Elorde Boxer Jeffrey Arienza will fight for WBO title in Japan!
Reigning WBC Asian Boxing Council champion Jeffrey "Bull" Arienza of Elorde Boxing gym will fight for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Superlightweight title against Akihiro Kondo of Japan September 13, tomorrow at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo Japan.
25 year-old Arienza won the WBC ABCO title after he KO Indonesian Wellem Reyk in 5th round last July 13 in Pasay City. He is also a former Youth world lightweight champion he won the belt against Japanese Takaya Kakutani on May 2014 in La Trinidad Benguet. Arienza will try get his first victory in Japan, he fought twice in Japan but suffered two defeats at the hand of Japanese foes. Arienza has a record of 15 wins 9 KOs 4 defeats and 1 draw.
Akihiro Kondo who is more veteran but older has a record of 25 wins 12 KOs and 6 defeats. 31 year-old Kondo is riding on his 4 fights winning strict. His most notable win was a 4th round TKO win against Filipino Jimrex Jaca on March 2015 and also 4th round TKO win over Thai Patumsok Pathompathong on July 2015 both were held in Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Kondo's latest defeat was against Filipino Ricky Sismundo where he was completely outmuscled by tough Sismundo.
Kondo never taste knock out loss so it will be a difficult task for Arienza who has left leg disability. Arienza was born with a left shin shorter than the other will push hard for this fight to win the title.
