Leipzig continues dream start, Mainz win

The dream run continues for Leipzig when they beat Wolfsburg in their home at Volkswagen Arena, Leipzig who just been founded 7 years ago thanks to their sponsor Red Bull started their history at the lower leagues of German football, they started their journey in the 5th level of the German football league pyramid system. They got promoted 4 times in the span of just 7 seasons to reach the top level of the German football league pyramid. Emil Forsberg has a chance to put Leipzig 1-0 up in the 17th minute when the referee awarded a penalty after Koan Casteels brought down Timo Werner. Forsberg who scored a penlaty already this season, missed the penalty to give the home side a lifeline. However the Bundesliga debutants will not be denied as Forsberg redeemed himself when he scored a goal in the 70th minute. Leipzig win means that they are now 3rd on the table and only one the four remaining unbeaten teams in the league.

Mainz 2-1 Darmstadt 98

After a defeat and a draw in their last 2 league outings Mainz returned to winning ways against Darmstadt 98. Pablo De Blasis scored for Mainz after just 5 minutes. Yunus Malli doubled the home side lead when he scored in the 56th minute. Jerome Gondorf scored for Darmstadt 98 in the 90th minute to bring back his side in to the match, but it was just a little too late as Mainz held on to win.
