Villareal 5-0 Celta Vigo
Celta Vigo the conquerors of FC Barcelona during the last set of fixtures of La Liga, failed to reproduce that winning form as they got dismantled by Villareal 5-0 last night in the Spanish League. The home side were already ahead after just 8 minutes thanks to a goal from Roberto Soriano. Then just 4 minutes later, Soriano scored his second of the game after he capitalized on the dreadful backpass which the keeper couldn't kick out cleanly due to the pressure of the Villareal players. Cedric Bakumbu added the goal tally when he scored in the 38th minute. In the 48th minute Daniel Wass scored an own goal which sums up the terrible night of Celta Vigo. Trigueros puts the final nail in the coffin when he scored in the closing stages of the game. The win by Villareal means that they are one of the three remaining unbeaten teams in the league alongside the two Madrid clubs.

Athletic Bilbao 3-2 Real Sociedad

Athletic Bilbao who suffered an upset defeat to Malaga last time out, returned to winning ways after their 3-2 win over Real Sociedad in the Spanish league. It was actually Sociedad who drew first blood in the game as Zurutuza scored a goal from a corner to put his team ahead 1-0, the scored remained that way going in to the second half. However Bilbao blitzed Sociedad when they scored 3 goals in a span of 21 minutes, goals from Muniain in the 51st minute, Adruiz in the 60th minute and Iñaki Williams in the 72nd minute put Bilbao ahead 3-1 in the game. However Iñigo Martinez scored in the 83rd minute to ensure a nervy finale to the game, but Bilbao managed to hold on to the 3-2 win.
