The five round fight between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis still on at a catchweight, but 'Showtime' will no longer competing for the interim title and 20-percent of his pay check goes to 'Blessed'. If Holloway wins he will be the interim featherweight champion. Pettis is the first fighter to missed weight for a UFC championship bout since Travis Lutter at UFC 67 in February 2007. UFC 206 will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Both Holloway and Pettis were elevated to the main event when light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier pulled out due to injury and the bout was scrapped with Anthony Johnson two weeks before UFC 206.
Rustam Khabilov and Valérie Létourneau also missed the required weight for their respective fights. They fined 20-percent of the purse, which goes to Jason Saggo and Viviane Pereira .
Before this night, on Friday, December 9, New York state will get its second UFC event as UFC Fight Night 102 will land at the Times Union Center in Albany.
Also on the card, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone looks for his third win at welterweight when he takes on the always tough Matt "The Immortal" Brown, who will attempt to bounce back from the first TKO loss of his career when he last stepped into the Octagon against Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201.
Another ultra exciting featherweight fight is headed to Canada as well, as Cub Swanson takes on "The Korean Superboy," Dooho Choi in what should be a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing affair.
