The FA Cup, the oldest knockout football competition in the world founded in 1871, this is the 136th edition of the competition, the competition didn't occurred during the time of World War I and World War II. In the previous 135 editions of the cup, Manchester United and Arsenal are tied with 12 titles the most titles won by any team. The first champion of the cup was Wanderers F.C.

The FA Cup has given many memorable matches throughout the years, and since it includes teams from as low as the 10th tier of English football league system, there are always a possibility of teams that will also give us giant killing runs and fairy tale runs.

This season once again 736 teams were accepted by FA to compete in the FA Cup, The following are the format of the competition.

Extra Preliminary Round - Level 9 and Level 10 leagues start the competition
Preliminary Round - Level 8 leagues join the competition
First Qualifying Round -  Level 7 leagues join the competition
Second Qualifying Round - Level 6 Leagues join the competition
Third Qualifying Round - No league entered
Fourth Qualifying Round - Level 5 (Conference Premier) join the competition

After all the qualifications the tournament proper will now commence, where the football league teams enter the competition.

First Round Proper - Level 4(Football League Two and One) enter the competition
Second Round Proper - No League Entered
Third Round Proper - Level 2(Football League Championship) and Level 1(Premier League) became the last leagues to enter the competition.

To state where leagues the teams belong I will put a number inside a parentheses to indicate what level in English football league system they belong.

Manchester  United(1) 4-0 Reading(2)

As one of the two successful teams in the history of the FA Cup, Manchester United are looking to start their title defense on the right track when they face Reading who should not be taken lightly since they are known of being a consistent performer in the FA Cup, where they are successfully reaching the later stages of competition even those years where they are not playing in the Premier League. However after just 7 minutes Wayne Rooney ensured that it will not happen this year as he scored for the Red Devils at close distance to make it 1-0 for the home side. Then in the 15th minute Anthony Martial scored from inside a box after a good one touch pass by Rooney. Marcus Rashford makes it 3-0 for Man United after the Reading defender missed the whole ball as he attempt to clear the ball which gave Rashford a 1on1 situation with the keeper which he didn't miss. Then 4 minutes later in the 79th minute Rashford once again capitalizes on an error this time it came from the Reading goal keeper which allows him to score his second and Man United's 4th and final goal of the game.

West Ham(1) 0-5 Manchester City(1)

Manchester United's city rival Manchester City played the early game on Friday to open the FA Cup third round. In the 33rd minute Yaya Toure scored from the penalty kick after Zabaleta was brought down inside the box to make it 1-0 for City. In the 41st minute Man City's lead were doubled thanks to an own goal by Havard Nordtveit after he tries to challenge Raheem Sterling from a wonderful cross from Sagna. David Silva then makes it 3-0 in the 43rd minute when he calmly scored from inside the box, Sergio Aguero continued the West Ham nightmare as he scored in the 50th minute when he tapped in the attempted shot by Yaya Toure. John Stones then scored the 5th and final goal of the game in the 84th minute from a corner kick.

Preston North End(2) 1-2 Arsenal(1)

This is some sort the battle of the "Invincibles" Preston North End known as the Original Invincible, while Arsenal inherited that name after the 2003-2004 Premier League season where they finish the league undefeated. Preston North End became the original invincible when they finish the 1888-1889 football league undefeated and they also won the FA Cup in the same year, making them one of the first big clubs in the history of English Football, after 137 years of existence they are still on the top leagues of England. Preston started the game beautifully when Callum Robinson scored after just 7 minutes to put the Championship side up 1-0 against the FA Cup Champions of 2014 and 2015. They ended the first half still leading 1-0 over the Gunners. However less than a minute after the second half restart Aaron Ramsey put Arsenal level 1-1. Olivier Giroud then scored inside the box to break the hearts of the Preston players and its fan when he scored in the 89th minute to win the game for them.

Chelsea(1) 4-1 Peterborough United(3)

After seeing their 13 game winning streak in the Premier League was stopped by Tottenham, Chelsea are looking to get back to winning ways in the FA Cup as they host League 1 side Peterborough United. Chelsea know first hand that they should never underestimate teams from the lower leagues, as they became a victim of a giant killing run two years ago when League 1 side Bradford City beat them 4-2 in the third round despite Chelsea having a 2-0 lead after 38 minutes. Chelsea showed their superiority in the 18th minute when Pedro scored a nice and calm goal inside the box to make it 1-0 for Chelsea, this came after Peterborough came close of their own for a 1-0 lead a couple of minutes ago. Batshuayi then makes it 2-0 for Chelsea in the 43rd minute when he scored from a Loftus-Cheek assist. Willian then scored a beautiful goal of his own in the 52nd minute to make it 3-0 for Chelsea. After John Terry got a straight red card for his challenge, Peterborough are hoping that they can mount a comeback and when Tom Nichols scored in the 70th minute to make it 3-1 things are looking good for them. However just 5 minutes later in the 75th minute Pedro make sure that there will no comeback as he scored the 4th goal for Chelsea which was also the final goal of the game.
