The no. 8-ranked welterweight Neil Magny got the win in UFC 207 action Friday at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, beating former champion after the three rounds.
Neil Magny returned to the win column with a unanimous decision victory but it didn't come without controversy. Johny Hendricks was landing takedowns and in ground control. No doubting or hating on Bigg Rigg but how take downs can be scored heavily when Hendricks was just holding his opponent and Mangy did more battle from the bottom. UFC even showed that Magny had twice as many significant ground strikes on TV.
The submission Neil Magny attempted when he got the head of former champion caught in a tight triangle with elbows during the first and last round was difference for me. He did more work. It was a near tap experience too. I thought it was going to be a submission finish though.
Close one. Magny edged Hendricks on scores after the three rounds. He also gets 20% of Hendricks purse. Hendricks missed weight for the third time. Neil Magny clearly deserved the win.
