With Carmelo Anthony Going Out, Knicks Signed a Scoring Forward
Journeyman Michael Beasly joining the Knicks
New York Knicks signed former 2nd overall pick of 2008 to a contract to kind of alleviate the position that will be left behind by Carmelo Anthony.
Beasly is not exactly the Carmelo Anthony type but once upon a time he was considered to be one of the promising young players in the NBA. Unfortunately though, issues outside the court have affected his value. Now at 28 years old, Michael Beasly is well traveled having to play with 8 teams, 2 teams of which in China.
Beasly has always been a prolific player and a scorer by nature. His best year was when he was in Minnesota for the 2010 season. He averages more than 19 points per game. He has played for the Heat, Phoenix, Houston, Minnesota, and Milwaukee.
With Melo potentially gone, he might have some minutes and opportunity to put up some good numbers.
Will Michael Beasly have a good stint in New York?
