Meet The Safest Car In The World Right Now

Sweden is a country that’s known for many things; Ikea, meatballs, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Volvo. It’s a country that’s built on doing things differently, and the Volvo XC60 is a reflection of that. While many other manufacturers focus on things like speed, power, and aesthetics, Volvo went all in on safety.

As such, they managed to create the safest car in the world. The Volvo XC60 smashed safety tests to bits in this past year, scoring close to 100% on the NCAP safety test. It’s been billed as the safest family car out there, and we’re going to have a look at some of the main reasons why.

Exceptional passenger protection

While working on ways to prevent crashes is essential, there must be lots of effort put into ensuring everyone is safe and okay if a collision does happen. In the aftermath of a car accident, you will do a few things; you check to see if everyone is okay, you survey the damages to your car, and then you proceed with the legal and insurance mumbo jumbo. With this car, it’s built to make sure that no one in your vehicle gets seriously hurt following an accident. There are loads of airbags that deploy to keep everyone from hurting themselves, and the structure of the car is built in a way that means it absorbs a lot of the force without completely crumbling and being absolutely bust-up. The result is a car that handles high-speed head-on collisions better than any other.

Advanced driver assistance systems

It comes as no surprise to learn that the main reason behind this car's amazing safety rating is the technology built into it. The XC60 can boast one of the most advanced safety systems in the world, with a whole host of things coming together to create the perfect package.

First off, there’s the camera and radar system that work to help detect other things on the road and prevent accidents. It can tell if other cars are within a certain area, but it also goes above and beyond this to detect animals, cyclists, pedestrians, and even the side of the road as well.

When threats are detected, the XC60 does numerous things. It could automatically slam the brakes on to avoid driving into the back of a vehicle, or it can automatically swerve out of the way of an incoming threat. The driving assistance technology also helps swerve cars back onto the road if it detects they’ve gone over the edge. This whole system can help prevent so many types of auto accidents that we see every day. Plus, it has an autonomous driving feature that means the car can take control at certain speeds for you, lowering the risks of accidents caused when speeding.

All in all, this car combines groundbreaking technology with a rugged exterior and excellent passenger protection. It’s the benchmark for car safety right now, and everyone else is playing catch up. Hopefully, we’ll see more and more cars adopting Volvo’s approach, so there are fewer collisions every day!
