Abra Weavers Joins 6th Season of Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League


The 6th Season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) welcomes the Abra Weavers as a new addition. Alongside the Pangasinan Heatwaves and Tarlac United Force, the Abra Weavers will compete in a league featuring 30 teams.

Hailing from the basketball-loving province of Abra, the team, led by Mayor Joseph Bernos and head coach Jonathan Banal, is poised to make its mark. With notable additions like Mac Tallo, Jeepy Faundo, and Prince Caperal, the Weavers are ready to showcase Abra's basketball talent.

MPBL Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes expressed excitement about the Weavers' entry, anticipating heightened competition in the league.

The season tips off on April 6, 2024, at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
