Legend. Architect. Showtime.
On February 22, 2026, Lakers legend Pat Riley will be immortalized in bronze at Star Plaza, unveiled just before the Lakers face off against their archrival, the Boston Celtics.A five-time NBA champion as both player and coach, Riley led the “Showtime” Lakers to four championships (1982, 1985, 1987, 1988), amassed a 533-194 (.733) record over nine seasons, and delivered nine consecutive 50-win seasons—including five straight with 60+ wins and 102 playoff victories. He also earned NBA Coach of the Year honors in 1990 and played a key role in the historic 1972 team that notched a league-record 33-game win streak.
Now, he joins icons like Abdul-Jabbar, Magic, Kobe, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Shaq, and Chick Hearn at Star Plaza.
From player to broadcaster to coach to executive, his legacy defines Lakers greatness. ⬛️🟡 #Lakers #Showtime #PatRileyStatue #LakersNation
