Macau to Host EASL Finals as Asia’s Best Clubs Compete for $1.5M Prize

EASL Finals Set to Crown Asia’s Best in Macau SAR

The East Asia Super League (EASL) is officially entering a new era.

EASL has unveiled the EASL Finals, its newly branded postseason championship event, set to take place in Macau SAR from March 18 to 22, 2026. The expanded tournament will feature six elite clubs emerging from a 12-team regular season, all competing for the title of Asia’s top basketball team.

Following EASL’s largest and most successful season to date, the Finals represent a major milestone for the league as it continues its rapid growth across the region.

“The renaming of the EASL Finals for the 2025–26 season represents a milestone for our league and reflects how far EASL has grown in a short period of time,” said EASL CEO Henry Kerins. “With a larger season, a deeper field, and a championship stage in Macau, this postseason will be the biggest expression of what EASL is becoming.”

Bigger Season, Bigger Stakes

The 2025–26 EASL campaign expanded to 12 teams and 42 total games, played across multiple East Asian markets since October. With that growth comes increased rewards, as the EASL Finals will feature the largest prize pool in league history:

  • USD 1.5 million – Champions

  • USD 750,000 – Runners-up

  • USD 350,000 – Third Place

Now in its third season, EASL also introduces its first expanded postseason format, moving away from the previous Final Four structure used in the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons.

New Playoff Format Explained

The top two teams from each of Groups A, B, and C will advance to the EASL Finals, forming a six-team playoff bracket. The championship pathway will unfold across three stages:

  • Quarterfinals – March 18

  • Semifinals – March 20

  • Championship & Third-Place Game – March 22

The March 18 Quarterfinals will feature two matchups, with the venue to be announced. The tournament then moves to Studio City Macau, which will host the Semifinals and Final games.

Asia Basketball Summit Returns

In addition to the on-court action, EASL will host the second annual “Asia Basketball Summit” on March 21 at Studio City Macau, bringing together key stakeholders and decision-makers to discuss the future of Asian basketball. More details are expected soon.

What’s Next

  • Regular season finale: February 11 (triple-header)

  • EASL Finals bracket set: February 11

  • Tickets on sale: February 21

  • March 18 venue: To be announced

With Asia’s best clubs battling for one title, one trophy, and one champion, all roads now lead to Macau.
