Days after the son of Manny Pacquiao delivered a scintillating TKO victory against Indonesian fighter Reynold Kundimang, Filipino boxing fans are already asking the question: What’s next for Eman Bacosa Pacquiao?

Now holding a record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, and having recently begun competing in eight-round bouts, Eman is steadily gaining attention from local boxing fans. The buzz following his latest performance has led some to wonder whether he might soon be ready for a championship opportunity.

During our conversation after the fight, when asked about his next move, Eman hinted at what could be ahead.

“We might be fighting for a title fight.”

The 135-pound lightweight division in the Philippines is currently relatively shallow, and the national title is vacant. Based on the latest rankings from the Games and Amusements Board this march, fighters such as Dave Penalosa, Roldan Aldea, Albert Pagara, Al Toyogon, and Genesis Libranza currently occupy the top five spots. Meanwhile, Ronerick Ballesteros holds the youth title in the division.

Eman is not yet ranked in the Philippines, but he is expected to appear in the next rankings update. That could potentially make him eligible to compete for the vacant belt or at least position him for a title eliminator bout. Another possible path would be pursuing the Philippine Boxing Federation title, which may be easier to obtain at this stage of his career.

While Eman showed promise in his latest fight, there are still areas where improvement is needed, particularly defense and footwork. A championship fight may be possible if a promoter is willing to invest in the opportunity, but a step-up fight against stronger competition might be the ideal path to ensure he is fully prepared for higher-level opposition.

Eman Is in Demand

According to my sources, multiple promoters in the Philippines have already expressed strong interest in hosting an Eman Bacosa Pacquiao fight, with some even promising a potential title shot in the near future.

With momentum building and the Pacquiao name drawing attention, the question now becomes clear: Will Eman take the fast track to a title, or continue building his experience before chasing championship gold?
