Derrick Rose joins other NBA players in the Philippines

Derrick Rose completes the line up of NBA players that will play exhibition games in the Philippines against the PBA ( Philippine Basketball Association ) selections and the Philippine National Basketball team( Smart Gilas) in a two day event this coming weekend in what is dubbed as the Ultimate All-Star weekend.

This coming July 23 and 24 the Araneta coliseum will be packed with basketball fans of all ages as they will all be witness a very rare event in Philippine basketball history. Never in the history of our basketball we had such big time NBA all star cast to play in one team against local players. The NBA players who nodded to play this weekend are the likes of Kobe Bryant, who will coach the squad, Chris Paul, Derek  Fisher, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, James Harden of the Oklahoma Thunder, DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers and Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves.    

The Ultimate all star weekend are made possible by Smart, PLDT, Meralco, Maynilad, TV5, Metro Pacific Tollways and Investment Corp. and Philex Mining and of course this event will not happen with out the NBA lock out. 

The NBA selection will play the PBA selection on July 23 which includes James Yap, Marc Pingris of BMeg, Mark Caguioa and JC Intal of Ginebra, Arwin Santos and Rabeh Al-Hussaini of Petron Blaze, Ryan Reyes, Jason Castro and Larry Fonacier of Talk N’ Text, Sonny Thoss and LA Tenorio of Alaska, Sol Mercado of Meralco, Gary David of Powerade, Gabe Norwood of Rain or Shine and Danny Seigle of Air21.

The next day the NBA selection will play against the National squad Smart Gilas  who is also preparing for the Jones Cup and The FIBA Asian championship that will be held in China. 

With out even watching it I can already predict the winner. ITS THE FANS. GO BASKETBALL!
