The Los Angeles Lakers had reportedly signed free-agent forward Metta World Peace for a one year, non guaranteed deal.
This is going to be his second stint with the Lakers. World Peace, previously known as Ron Artest, was a member of Los Angeles Lakers team from 2009-2013, including when Lakers won their 16th Larry O'Brien trophy in 2010.
The St. John's University alum will join Lakers camp in Hawaii next Monday, and he is projected to be a backup small forward in the team, and become a mentor for Lakers' young guns, along with Kobe Bryant. Recently, World Peace played for Sichuan Blue Whales in China and Pallacanestro Cantu in Italy.
World Peace had played for 6 different NBA teams throughout his careers; Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, the Lakers and New York Knicks. He is also famous as one of the most controversial players in the NBA.
