Veteran guard Luke Ridnour to sit out 2015-16 NBA season

Luke Ridnour has played 12 NBA seasons. After being traded four times this offseason, He has made a move that will keep him from getting dealt next season and possibly ever again.

Ridnour has decided that he will not play the 2015-16 NBA season. He has not announced his retirement although his return to professional basketball appears doubtful. Ridnour received interest in free agency, but it wasn’t reciprocated. Ridnour, 34, averaged career lows in 47 games with the Orlando Magic last season: four points, two assists and 14.5 minutes per game. He was slated to make $2.75 million in the final year of his contract before the Toronto Raptors, who acquired him from the Oklahoma City Thunder on June 30, requested waivers a day before the deal became guaranteed July 10. Ridnour had only been traded three times total prior to this offseason
