Johnson averages 11.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 57 games this season with the Brooklyn Nets. The 10th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft had a $24.8 million expiring contract and will become a free agent once he clears waivers within 48 hours.
Johnson is the second player waived by the Brooklyn Nets after waiving Andrea Bargnani last week.
Johnson has committed to sign with the Miami Heat and is expected to sign with them once he clear free-agency waivers tomorrow. This is a good pick up by the Heat as their guards, Beno Udrih and Tyler Johnson are out for the season due to injuries.
