Filipino boxers go 0-3 on the road
This weekend there was a number of Filipinos in action in three different countries. Unfortunately all of them came up short.
Tokyo Japan
Romel Oliveros (6-2-1,1KO) suffered an early 2nd round stoppage against hard hitting Japanese Daigo Higa (9-0,9KOs) . Oliveros was down three times in 2nd round before the referee decided to end the bout. Higa successfully defended his WBC Youth flyweight title and targets another Filipino OPBF flyweight champion Ardin Diale.
Tasmania Australia
Another defeat by Filipino was suffered by former World title challenger John Mark Apolinario(19-7-3,5KOs) against hometown fighter Luke "Tasmanian" Jackson (11-0,5KOs).
Apolinario and Jackson was evenly matched but it was The Tasmanian who landed more telling blows and hard punches to get a Unanimous Decision victory and to capture the WBA Ocenia featherweigh title.
Ohio USA
Fil-Am Middleweight boxer Miles Delmindo (3-1,2) have tastes defeat for the first time as a pro boxer as his more experienced foe Antonio Urista (7-1,2) outpointed him throughout the fight.
