Merlito Sabillo set for OPBF Title Fight in Japan!

Former WBO Minimumweight World Champion Filipino Merlito Sabillo is set for the vacant OPBF title fight against Japanese Riku Kano on May8th at the Bunka Center , Sanda, Hyogo Japan

 Merlito "Tiger" Sabillo (25-2-1,12) is a former 2 times OPBF and 2 times WBO World champion and want to earn another World title crack, He is a currently WBO#3 in minimumweight division. He is 2 Wins-2 Defeats-1 Draw in his last 5 fights including TKO defeats against Mexican slugger Francsico Rodriguez Jr, and Indonesian Farris Nenggo.

18-year-old Riku Kano whose record is 9 wins with 5 KO 1 defeat and 1 draw. This is a huge step up in class for the teenage Japanese who wants to earn also a title crack. Kano's first 3 fights were all held in Philippines. His only setback was when he lost by Split Decision on his pro debut against Filipino Benjie Bartolome last December 7 in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines.

According to Scott Graveson "best Sabillo should be narrowly favoured 55-45 type of match up, if Sabillo is on the slide Kano is the slight favourite"
