The Hidden Trade Targets in Every Team
Trades are scarce right now but if the teams start looking for possible targets, these twelve guys should be considered.
Having their names here, doesn't mean they are on the block. It only means that there is a big possibility that they are being undervalued by their current team now that you can give less for what he will really brings to your team.
Alaska Aces - Rome Dela Rosa
Any team looking for an energy guy who will bring 101% effort everytime he enters the court specially on the defensive end. Alaska value chemistry but I think they will accept a bigger name prospect for him.
Blackwater Elite - Almond Vosotros
Almond is having a hard time cracking the guard rotation of the Elite who already have Lastimosa and Cortez in front with Tiongson and Reyes as back-ups. If you are a fan of Stephen Curry and you already saw Almond play, you should agree with me that he has the potential to reach at least 50% of the level of play of Curry. He is a 2nd round pick and with his spot in the rotation, a 2nd round pick should be acceptable for the Elite.
Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel - Sol Mercado
I still don't understand why Sol never found a franchise that will build around him. He is playing 20.7 minutes for the Kings and if Coach Tim see him as a role player only, the franchises who are looking for a main man should call them right away and try to exchange some picks and few role players. He is still 31 so I am pretty confident that he can still lead a franchise.
Globalport Batang Pier - Joseph Yeo
According to rumors, he is already on the trade block so I am quite shock that a trade hasn't happen. Efficiency is never on his vocabulary but his creativity and scoring prowess is a great skill for a sixth man role in another team. I just hope I can still see The Ninja exploits in the future.
Mahindra Enforcers - Mark Yee
Mark is playing in an amazing level this season as exhibited by his per 36 numbers of 16.3 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals. He is playing consistent minutes but will Mahindra reject multiple 2nd round picks for a veteran like him? I doubt it, so for the contenders out there who are looking for a guy who can shoot, defend and get rebounds, this is the guy.
Meralco Bolts - Rey Guevarra
I think, Coach Norman has put him on the reserves already because he did not play a single minute in their first five games. That was understandable because the SF position is pretty loaded with Hodge and Dillinger. He is already 30 years old but there is still a small chance that he can be a credible scorer in the PBA just like in college. Maybe a bigman could suffice to acquire him.
NLEX Road Warriors - John Wilson
With Coach Boyet going all out with his young guards, Wilson is now stack in the bench, literally. He has played only a single minute this conference and he doesn't deserve that. I understand what Coach Boyet is doing but I am hoping they just send Wilson to another team. And those other franchise should not be afraid to give a future 1st for him because he is a legit 3 and D wing.
Phoenix Fuel Masters - Eman Monfort
Even with the departure of Jeric Fortuna, having two pure point guards and three other guards who can play that position is still too much. With his height, Eman could be the lowest in the depth chart of the Fuel Masters, which means a single 2nd rounder could be enough to snatch him.
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters - Josan Nimes
Actually, Elasto Painters remains to be the best talent developer in the league so I am sure their other end-of-the bench guys will be worth it to acquire. What I love about Josan is his ceiling. He has the confidence to be the #1 option of an offense and he is also a great playmaker. At 25 years old, I am willing to give a solid bigman that Rain or Shine needs.
San Miguel Beermen - Jay-R Reyes
Height is might in the game of basketball. Standing 6'7, Reyes could start for some of the teams. He never develop legit bigman skills but he is scrappy enough to give the opponents headaches. The Beermen is really loaded in the frontline so I doubt that they are looking for a decent return for him.
Purefoods Star Hotshots - Ronald Pascual
This guy really needs a chance to show his worth! He never got that with a loaded San Miguel Beermen and I doubt Purefoods can give him that with a deep wing rotation. For the sake of the kid, I am really hoping that he will end up in another team soon. And if I am looking for a cornerstone for the future, I should keep him on my radar.
Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters - Dennis Miranda
Maybe age is already catching up with him because he is having a very awful season. He is already 33 years old but if a team is looking for a veteran guard who can defend and who can be a mentor to their younger guards, Denok is the guy to catch.
