Mozgov Agreed to Sign a Four-Year Deal with Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers made their first move in the off season by signing the russian center, Timofey Mozgov to a four-year, USD 64 million deal. Mozgov is part of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that won the 2016 NBA championship.
After averaging 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in the 2014-2015 season, he just averaged 5.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game in the 2015-2016 season. With th resurgence of Tristan Thompson as the Cavs center and with the acquisition of Channing Frye in the trade deadline last season, the former Cavalier forward has fallen out of the Cavs front court rotation.
Lakers on the other hand are looking for a legit center for their team with a failed season of Roy Hibbert. They also drafted Ivica Zubac from Croatia with the 32nd pick in the 2016 NBA draft. With the addition of Mozgov to the Lakers, the team will be having a legit center who can score inside and grab the boards.
