2x PBA MVP Willie Miller at Red Bull’s King of the Rock World Finals

(MANILA, Philippines) – The journey of Filipino street baller Willie Miller ended in the second round of Red Bull’s King of the Rock World Finals last September 17 at Mali Kalemegdan, Belgrade, Serbia. The two-time Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Most Valuable Player represented the Philippines in the world’s largest one-on-one street basketball competition.

Serbia's very own Stefan Kojić battled Karolis Šarukas of Lithuania in the final round, with the hometown favorite, spurred on by the passionate crowd, clinching a 14-12 victory to become Red Bull’s King of the Rock.
Alexei Zakarov of Russia took third place in the tournament that drew the best 32 street basketball players from 20 countries.

In its debut season in the Philippines, the Red Bull King of the Rock held qualifiers in Cebu, Caloocan and Quezon City.

Twenty-four of the country's top street ballers engaged in an intense elimination round, leaving Herndon and former PBA superstar Willie Miller as the last two men standing in the finals.

Herndon eventually took home the crown, but decided to step down, paving the way for the ascension of Miller as the first Filipino representative to the King of the Rock Finals. The 9-time PBA All-Star player has proven that he has the moves and mentality of a champion during his 14-year PBA career. At the culmination of this season’s King of the Rock, Miller played with the signature Filipino passion and pride.

About Red Bull King of the Rock
Red Bull King of the Rock is the world's most prestigious one-on-one street basketball tournament. After a series of qualifying events taking place around the world, the best and toughest finalists (Kings and Queens) face off to crown the new champion. The tournament follows a straightforward concept where players battle head-to-head in raw outdoor basketball, using a single-elimination tournament bracket. Games last five minutes, with 15 second clock and are subject to regulation hoops rules and scoring (two and three pointers). Players have to be tough to make it to the finals, but also have to play smart – five fouls equal an automatic loss. After each game, the loser walks away, and the winner will face his next opponent. Tension and expectations are high. With blood, sweat, tears, and hoops in the mix, the last King and Queen will be honored.
