Ricky Sismundo will take on Pacquiao's former sparring partner




Filipino Ricky "Sisbomba" Sismundo (30W-9L-3D,19KOs) who fights out of Yokohama Japan will take on Manny Pacquiao's former sparring partner Ghislain Maduma (18W-2L,11KOs)  in a ten rounds super lightweight non-title bout under David Lemieux-Cristian Fabian Rios fight on October 22 at Bell Centre in Quebec Canada.

Sismundo will fight in Quebec Canada for the second straight time. His first fight in Canada on May 13th was against former world title challenger Dierry Jean which was ended in a questionable draw. Jean was knocked down twice in the 4th. The final judges’ scores were 76-74 for Jean, 76-74 for Sismundo and 75-75 even. 

Sismundo also suffered a highly controversial split decision defeat against world rated Mexican Jose Felix Jr on January 30 in California USA. According to ringside reporter Miguel Maravilla "Felix Jr won a questionable ten round split decision over the aggressive Sismundo who kept Felix Jr on the back foot all night long but came up short” Maravilla reported that Sismundo backed Felix Jr against the ropes and connected with some big punches but still lost a controversial decision. 

In the other hand Congo-born Canadian Ghislain Maduma who is a former sparring mate of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is a former WBC Continental Americas and NABF lightweight champion.
Maduma sparred with Pacquiao at Wildcard gym in LA before his rematch with Timothy Bradley.
31 year-old Maduma's last fight on May 13th was against Argentina's Cesar David Inalef (20-5-2) where he scored a loop sided unanimous decision win on the same card of Sismundo-Jean fight.

Sismundo must win for this fight to get bigger names in the division and may get a title shot considering his impressive win against Maduma.
