Barangay Ginebra gives Meralco a first half beating as they go back to Coach Tim's triangle offense. Their impressive defense evidently affected the game, limiting Meralco to only 13 points in the first quarter.

Sol Mercado who struggled in game 3 who was on the bench after getting fouled out and had limited minutes after getting into foul trouble went perfect from the field in the first half with 2 convereted three pointers. Ginebra out rebounded Meralco in the first half with Brownlee and Aguilar controlling the boards.

At the second half,  Meralco continued to play catch up and eventually gained the lead having the 3rd quarter points production at 39-12 points after the Meralco run lead by Durham and Hodge.

Tim Cone turns the table around in the fourth quarter by making Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand take over the guard spots and eventually turning it  into a success. Jayjay Helterbrand made three 3 point shots that get the things going for Ginebra overcoming a huge deficit gained in the 3rd quarter and played a great defense cancelling out Durham in the pay off period. Ginebra's five on the floor did a great job in defending the outside shooters of Meralco. Ginebra had 5 points ahead of Meralco in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter after meralco ties the ball game. Ginebra regained the lead at 2 points and L.A got fouled and missed his two charities which gave Meralco 7seconds left on the clock. Norman Black called a time out to plan things up but the play executed by the team on shot of Chris Newsome was not converted into 2 points that ends the regulations with Ginebra with just a possession away to win game 4 at 88-86

Helterbrand scored 11 points that helped Ginebra in to this win despite Justin Brownlee's poor production. The series is now tied at 2 a piece heading into game 5 to get the 3rd win before entering game 6 who might be the deciding match to get the most anticipated season ending conference crown.
