Second Preseason Game: LA Lakers vs. Nuggets

The Lakers are back at Staples Center for the first time this season. The last time the Lakers were in their home arena was when Kobe Bryant played his final game, scoring 60 points and leading Los Angeles to a comeback victory.

The new age Lakers capture the preseason opener over Sacramento, 103-84. Tarik Black's back-to-back and-1 layups rolled off 14 unanswered points to begin the fourth. The recently re-signed power forward proved too athletic and energetic, scoring six of his 15 points. Brandon Ingram missed all five of his shots from the field, finishing with only two points off free throws. Lou Williams started at shooting guard and Jordan Clarkson came off the bench.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Clarkson said. “As long as I’m on the court, playing minutes, I’m going to impact the game someway — if that’s defensively or offensively. I’m always going to be aggressive on both ends of the floor. That’s where I’m going to make my mark.”

Metta World Peace will be replacing small forward Luol Deng who will sit out tonight's preseason game due to a bruised left knee. He bumped knees with fellow wing Anthony Brown in Thursday's practice. Deng scored eight points with two rebounds in 16 minutes as the starting small forward in Tuesday's preseason opener against Sacramento.
