Dirk Nowitzki is Not Ready to Retire on a Losing Note

Dirk Nowitzki is not going to retire just yet.

The 38 year old German who had been playing for the same uniform since he started in the NBA is looking to extend one more season to help with rebuilding Dallas Mavericks. Nowitzki this year is averaging 14.2 points, second to the lowest output of his career since he was still a rookie.

Obviously, age is catching up with the former franchise player but he is quite convinced that he still got some juice to give next season. Now relegated as a backup scoring option behind Harrison Barnes who had taken the role of the leader, Dirk had his mind set on making it up next season.

This year, the Dallas Mavericks ended with a 33 - 49 record.
