Boston maybe throwing the towel after announcing that they will be sitting down perennial point guard Isaiah Thomas.
Thomas has been the focal point of offense of the number 1 seeded Celtics. The MVP candidate has been the go to guy and has contributed a lot even on tough times. Thomas in the playoffs experienced some heart wrenching news when a day before their playoff series against the Wizards his sister was involved in an accident and died. He had no choice but to play and he played very well, even at time he was seen crying.
But it isn't the only issue that Thomas was suffering to. During the series with the Wizards he injured his hips and was aggravated due to the long series and continuous play.
In a statement by Celtics' general manager and president Danny Ainge, he mentioned that the injury was a lingering one and it is the management's decision to sit him down to prevent long term damage. It has nothing to do with the series being a blow out.
