Robert Onggocan to Defend IBF Title in Bakbakan sa Calamba 2

Coming off from a huge seventh-round knockout upset over one of Indonesia's brightest prospect Iwan Zoda in Nabang Indonesia last January 28, the very young and reigning IBF Youth Flyweight Champion Robert "El Rapido" Onggocan hopes to make another statement against fellow Filipino Marjun Pantilgan of Malaybalay Bukidnon in the main event of Bakbakan sa Calamba II on June 23 (Monday) at Calamba Sports Complex in Calamba City.

Pantilgan, 22 currently riding a three fight win streak since losing to former WBC Flyweight world champion Sonny Boy Jaro on November 2016. Pantilgan is a big puncher and has a record of 14 wins 4 defeats and 11 by the way of knockout. Despite of his  four losses Pantilgan has never been knockdown or knockout.

Onggocan, 21 is the reigning and defending IBF Youth Flyweight champion. He won the title with seventh round TKO win over Indonesian Iwan Zoda in January in Nabang Indonesia. The fight with Zoda is his first fight outside the country. Onggocan (8-1,4KOs) will defend his title for the first time against Pantilgan this coming Monday.

The "Bakbakan sa Calamba 2" fight card is promoted by Dino Olivetti Promotions with Brunsmick and Aljoe Jaro Promotions. This will also feature former OPBF champion Al Rivera, former WBC International champion Ernesto Saulong and former IBF world champion Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand.
