Fresh from first successful defense of his WBC Super featherweight title against dangerous Takashi Miura, Reigning champion Miguel Berchelt quickly talks about his next step.
Berchelt would welcome another fight in United States but also likes the idea of fighting in front of his countrymen in Mexico.
"I will be back in Mexico on Monday. We will talk to the team and we will determine the possibilities of a title defense in the month of November or we will wait until next year. The good thing is that there are a lot of options. The opportunity to fight for the third time this year with the backing of HBO is open, but there is also a chance to have a fight in Mexico," Berchelt revealed to ESPN Deportes.
"There are many names that I can show that I'm the best 130 pounder in the world," Berchelt said.
Meanwhile former world champion and could be the next opponent of Berchelt the former world champion and WBC#5 Jhonny Gonzalez has shown interest to face Berchelt next after his second round ko win of Filipino Jessie Cris Rosales yesterday in Chihuahua Mexico.
"I've felt a bit underrated, but I've already been talking to the WBC. I'm number five in the division, because with a win the opportunity to compete for a world title is closer," Gonzalez explained.
