Filipino Rey "Hitman" Loreto fell short on his world title quest against defending champ Thammanoon Niyomtrong aka Knockout CP Freshmart earlier in Chinburi Thailand.

Thammanoon Niyomtrong /Knockout CP Freshmart repulses a stiff challenge from Filipino Rey Loreto with 12 rounds unanimous decision . The scores were 117-110, 117-110 and 115-113. Loreto down in the 8th round. Not an easy fight for the champ who had to battle through a closed left eye and a determined opponent. The Thai's bodypunching and jab proved the difference as he built up a lead and held off Loreto's late surge. The knockdown was particularly unfortunate for Loreto who was winning the round but was caught off balance and felled by a right hook.

Niyomtrong goes 16 wins 7 via knockouts with no defeat while Loreto slipped to 23 wins with 13 defeats.
