SMB not so mighty without JunMar Fajardo,  suffers first loss in the 2017 PBA Governors Cup

Team work and game plan - Coach Chito Victolero

After a well-deserved win, Coach Chito Victolero gives credit to team effort, team work and game plan as his Star Hotshots endured the challenge of the Beermen and won with the score of 104-98.

SMB looked great as usual and was really giving the Hotshots a tough time but Star Hotshots came in prepared and rose to the occasion.  SMB was playing without JunMar who suffered an injury in their last game. In the absence of JunMar, other players did step up. Lassiter led the scoring for the locals with 24 points followed by Arwind Santos who were both shooting at 50%.

Import Mckines also contributed a game high of 27 points while grabbing 22 rebounds.

The young import of Star Malcolm Hill produced 20 points but he was only shooting at 7/18(38%). It was Ian Sangalang who bucketed 18 points (50% FG) and Reavis who scored 13 points on a hundred percent shooting made the difference for Star Hotshots.

This is very important, in our mindset, that we can beat SMB - Coach Victolero
