Gilas Pilipinas Final Line-Up: Who do we think should have been included

Why are Raymond Alamazan and CBC not part of the final 12?

Who do I think should have been included?

As a fan you always have your own point of view of things and while I'd agree that our line up for the upcoming FIBA World Cup Qualifier is great, I'd also argue that there are two players I think should have been part of the final cut but were not included.

A few days ago, Gilas Pilipinas finally unveiled the line up for the game against Japan. In an announcement made by Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes through the Kuwentong Gilas Facebook page, he named the final line-up for the Philippines which will take on Japan in Tokyo.

The Final 12 are:

Guards
Jayson Castro
Kevin Alas
Roger Pogoy
Matthew Wright
Gabe Norwood
Calvin Abueva
Allein Maliksi

Forward/ Center
June Mar Fajardo
Japeth Aguilar
Troy Rosario

Our team is guard heavy and it is looking like we are planing to outrun and outgun the Japanese from the outside with our fast line up. Carl Cruz, Mac Belo, and Raymond Almazan did not make the cut and will be sidelined during the game. They will be a supporting cast for the game.

I was really hoping Raymond Almazan and Carl Bryan Cruz is part of the final 12. With our limited size, Raymond Almazan is a good back up for our primary big men. He is very athletic and can score inside as well as can defend the paint. Carl Bryan Cruz on the other hand is a big man who has shown touch from the outside and has been one of the sparks in his last national stint.

While we want them all in the team it will be hard to argue and remove any of the current players on the roster as they are definitely all deserving to be part of the team.

Who would you drop?
