Good News Spurs, Kawhi Leonard is Nearing Return
Kawhi Leonard is Playing 5 on 5 Basketball in Practice
Spurs fans have something to smile about as their best player is back to playing 5 on 5 in practice. Kawhi Leonard has not played a single game in the season as he continues to rehab from his quad injury.
Kawhi Leonard will certainly be of big help for the Spurs but the team has been holding up without him ranking 3rd in the Western Conference only behind the Rockets and the Warriors at 14 wins - 7 losses.
Coach Gregg Popovich said Kawhi Leonard (quad) is entering "the last steps" of his rehab. "He’s starting to feel in a little bit better shape and feeling more confident," .
Tony Parker, his teammate, also came from an injury and has so far played two games with limited minutes. Parker at 35 is one of the veteran players of the Spurs and is not expected to play heavy minutes, unlike Kawhi Leonard.
The Spurs have not announced his date of return but according to sources, we could see him back in action in 2 to 3 weeks.
