Manny Pacquiao Could Be Doing Something he has not done in a Decade in Boxing!

Manny Pacquiao undercard of Horn vs Crawford

Manny Pacquiao could be undercard of Horn vs Crawford!

July 2, 2017, was the last day we saw Manny Pacquiao inside the boxing ring. It is also the day that we all wish did not happen. Manny Pacquiao fought Jeff Horn in a controversial fight that gave Pacquiao his 7th career loss and paved way for Jeff Horn's boxing career.  It was definitely a night to forget for Pacquiao's camp.

Jeff Horn, on the other hand, is benefiting from the win against the former WBO welterweight champion and is now scheduled to fight Terrence Crawford in New York on April 14, 2018, in what would be his debut fight outside of Australia. After defeating Pacquiao Jeff Horn was supposed to fight Pacquiao in a rematch but the negotiation fell off and he had to settle against Gary Corcoran whom he also defeated via TKO in 11 rounds. The chance to fight Terrence Crawford is big for Jeff Horn's career as it would further help his career, however, the fight isn't exactly a fan favorite and many boxing pundits believe that it is not a PPV material.

The real breaking news is, Pacquiao will be back in the ring but could potentially be a supporting cast now!

The last time I saw Manny Pacquiao as supporting cast in a boxing event was 2002 when he demolished Jorge Julio in the 2nd round of the Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson event. Fast forward today, there are a lot of rumors that Bob Arum is looking to pit him against an over the hill fighter in Mike Alvarado in what could be the co-main event of Jeff Horn vs Terrence Crawford match. The news isn't exactly as thrilling for the boxing fans as both matchups are one-sided and uninteresting especially for boxing scholars.

Pacquiao who has enjoyed an illustrious boxing career is on the tail end of his boxing journey and another bad match up is not something we want to see especially if Manny wants to end his career the right way. Personally, I would prefer to see him face someone like Vasyl Lomachenko, Amir Khan, Danny Garcia or Mikey Garcia, a fight with either any of these fighters could be a boxing dream as it can produce a good action fight but Bob Arum may be planning differently.

In a few weeks, Manny Pacquiao's fight could be finalized and his opponent will also be introduced.

Who do you want Manny Pacquiao to face next?
Do you think he is no longer the main event fighter?
