Backed against the wall the Philippine National Football Team the Azkals are now fighting for their lives to qualify for the AFC Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup next year.

The newest darlings of the Philippines Sports proved that they are not just hype and good looks by actually wining some games, however they are in a big predicament due to their lackluster performance against Mongolia, Myanmar and Palestine. The National Football team showed a glimpsed of greatness during those games but also showed that a big overall improvement needs to happen.

Currently ranked 151st in the FIFA world standings, the Azkals hope to take a bite of their share in football glory as they attempt to get rid of the Bangladesh football team. A win will ensure their spot in the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup next and the hopes to be considered a team to contend in Football at least in Asia.

“I’m satisfied with the result,” said Weiss 

Although coach of the Philippine Football team Weiss expresses his satisfaction in the performance of his team the growing fans are worried. 

Filipino football fans expect no less than a win. 

The Philippines Sports are ruled by Basketball and Boxing. Soccer however is still an emerging sport. With the hopes to get more shares of the Filipino fans the Azkals team would need exemplary performance against Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh although ranked below the Philippines showed that they are not a push over team by upsetting Myanmar 2-0. Bangladesh and Philippines could turn out to be a classic as this will determine the faith of the Philippine Football team not only in The Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup but in the hearts of the Filipino sports fan.

As the popularity of football and the Azkals team raised in the Philippines the continuity of it hang in the balance as hopeful Filipino fans salivate for Victory. 

The Azkals must break through barrier and win this game against Bangladesh to ensure their spot as one of the Philippines favorite sports.

The card, at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, is led by two featherweights attempting to climb the rankings Angelo Leo (23-1, 11 KOs), who trains out of Las Vegas, Nevada, made weight at 125.8 lbs. His opponent, Eduardo Baez (23-5-2, 9 KOs), came in slightly lighter at 125.4 lbs. They will contest a 10-round main event. Leo is a former WBO super-bantamweight champion.
