‘Bata’ wins Vegas One Pocket tourney

Filipino billiards master Efren "Bata" Reyes displayed his mastery of the pool table by winning the 2011 One Pocket Championships on Sunday (Monday in Manila) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Reyes, a top player of Aristeo "Putch" Puyat, edged American Cris Gentile, 5-2, in the finals to win the $8,000 top prize and championship trophy. Bata's win was confirmed by fellow cue artist Jun Almoite.

Gentile received the runner-up purse of $4,400.
