The reason why San Miguel Beermen left the PBA?

by: powsalud|powcast.net

Looks like the San Miguel got some pretty good plans pulling out San Miguel name from the PBA basketball. San Miguel beer is well known in the Philippines and pretty much when you want to drink or say beer it will always be a San Miguel beer on the table. The recent name change to Petron from San Miguel is simply give way to the franchise to register its name under the ABL (Asean Basketball League).

SMC president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang seals SMC’s entry into the ABL with SEABA president Eric Toehir. This is a good business strategy so they can penetrate the South East Asian market. San Miguel team will be coach by Bobby Parks and most likely players will come from the reserves of the three San Miguel franchise in the PBA.
