Floyd Mayweather Jr. record according to Oscar Dela Hoya is 43 Wins and 3 Loss

Boxing great turned promoter Oscar De La Hoya sees nothing extraordinary about Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s 46-0 record.

The 6-division former world champion took to Twitter and told Mayweather that he should stop harping about his undefeated status.

"You never ever hear Julio Cesar Chavez saying he's the best ever, and he was 87-0 before he lost," said the president of Golden Boy Promotions. "You have to realize that records don't mean anything in today's world. Don't forget Julio Cesar Chavez was 87-0 before he lost his first".

De La Hoya also said Mayweather's true record should stand at 43 wins and 3 defeats.

He claimed that the American fighter's victories against him, Jose Luis Castillo and, most recently, Marcos Maidana were all tainted.

"I watched several fights again and Floyd should be 43-3."

De La Hoya, whose Golden Boy Promotions co-handles Mayweather’s fights, has been critical of the reigning pound-for-pound king since he lost to Mayweather in 2007.
