"From Ring to Cage"

When URCC started all the fights were showcased inside the ring.

It took over a decade before the longest running MMA promotions decided to switch to the cage.

In the past the God father of Philippine MMA Alvin Aguilar did not  appreciate the idea of fighting inside the cage, I remember one time he said  something like "only cockfight happens inside the cage and fighting inside the ring can showcase more exciting fights"

On October 2014, URCC finally switched to the cage for a very good reason.

Switching to the cage is a part of the plans of  making the organisation bigger.

The founder, Alvin Aguilar said in his interview during the launching last year.

“The only reason why we went to the cage is that we are preparing our fighters for international fights and everybody on the international stage fights in the cage.  I don’t want our fighters to have to adjust to the cage.”

To me this is a master plan! i couldn't agree more. The organisation is doing anything possible not only to give the fans the best fights possible but also to make sure that their fighters are ready for international standards.

ABOUT URCC The Universal Reality Combat Championship is Southeast Asia’s first professional mixed martial arts tournament. We held our first mainstream event in 2002 in front of a sold–out crowd at the Casino Filipino. Ever since 2002, we have always sold out all of our events. The URCC is often referred to as “ASIA’s MOST EXCITING MMA LEAGUE”. This is due to the fact that the league has the highest rates of finishes in the region. Our fighters ALWAYS come to FIGHT
