Olivarez Sea Lions cager Mavrick Dwight ‘The Maverick’ Saguiguit and his passion for the game

It takes a lot of guts, courage, and hard work to attain such discipline in the world of sports like basketball. But this guy from Las Piňas has more to offer with the Olivarez College Sea Lions Men’s basketball Team especially in the upcoming NCR-UCL tournament.

Born Mavrick Dwight C. Saguiguit on November 17, 1994 to Mr. Michael A. Saguiguit and Ms.
Donna-Jay C. Sablan, the 5-foot-11 point guard for Olivarez  College Sea Lions is currently studying BSBA Major in Operations Management.

Asked how he manages to balance his studies and games, “If we have games, I make sure to ask for reviewers or notes from my classmates for me to cope up with our lessons and I also ask my professors to give me make up quizzes and exams”, quipped the cager from Olivarez.

His career high in points is 27 in the NCBL against TIP. For him, every game is unforgettable since not everyone gets the chance to play for the school. His idol is the NBA is two-time MVP and 3-points specialist Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. With perseverance and hard work, the road to basketball glory may not be far-fetched for a determined guy like Mavrick Dwight.
