PBA will adjust for Gilas in preparation for FIBA World and Asian games

Schedule of PBA will be adjusted for Gilas Pilipinas in preparation for FIBA World and Asian games, this is definitely a good news for basketball fans in the Philippines. It sound like the Professional league(PBA) and the National  governing bodies of basketball in the Philippines (SBP) are both working together to help regain the lost glory of basketball in the Philippines.

When we work together we see result, just take a look at what we have accomplished in the recent FIBA Asian Tournament, beating South Korea and winning silver feels like a championship, it feels great. Now that we are qualified to play in the world stage of basketball again, we should continue to help each other and accommodate the needs of our national team.

I just read the news from PhilStar that the PBA, the best local professional league and the player source of the national team is willing to adjust to accommodate and provide longer training schedule for the Gilas Pilipinas to better prepare in the upcoming FIBA World. The upcoming event will be held in Spain on August 30 to September 14 and a couple of weeks later its the Asian Games, whether it will still be the same team to play the Asian games, it is still up in the air right now.

For now I am commending PBA commissioner Chito Salud for entertaining the idea and hopefully pushing to make it happen, its the right thing to do, hope everyone think so.
