Manila Great Run 2016: What Makes It So Great?

      

Attention runners! 

The "Manila Great Run: Duo Road Race Challenge" will be on June 12, 2016, on Filinvest City, Alabang. It will feature the 3k/5k/10k categories, but it will be challenging because of a new twist.

So, what makes this run so great?

Firstly, the run is inclusive of singlet, running shorts, race bib, timing chip, finisher shirt, finisher medal, and a certificate of completion, REGARDLESS of the distance you ran.

Secondly, you get to run for the benefit of Pedriatric Cancer Patients of PGH, and the scholarship funds of high school students, from select schools in Metro Manila.

The Manila Great Run is named aptly because it will feature Individual and Team  Competition for the 10k category. This is probably the first time you will experience a conditioning and recovery break in a run. For the Individual category, you will have to run 10k, have a recovery break, then run an additional 5k. The top 3 male & female runners in the opening 10K leg will be awarded a green jersey, which they are required to wear during the final 5K leg. For the Team category, male runners will run 10k, have a recovery break, and their female partners will have to run the remaining 5k. The top 3 male runners in the opening 10k leg and their corresponding female partners will be awarded a green jersey, which the ladies are required to wear during the final 5K leg. Its a very exciting challenge that is unique to this event. The 3k and 5k are open categories.
